Navy Rescuers Thought This Sinking Ship Was Empty, But Then They Spotted Movement On Board

It’s March 2021, and total chaos is unfolding off the coast of Koh Adang island in Thailand. A fishing vessel has somehow burst into flames, and jet-black smoke is now filling the air. Soon, a team from the Thai Navy is dispatched to this suffocating and dangerous scene. It’s a perilous place for them to be, but thankfully the sinking craft’s crew have already been saved. That’s one less thing for this naval team to worry about – or so you’d think. As they edge closer, the team realize that there’s still life trapped on that boat. And if they don’t act quickly, whoever’s stuck there is doomed.

Unanticipated rescue

This wasn’t even meant to be a rescue mission for the naval team. They’d been led to believe that everyone on that fiery fishing vessel had already been safely retrieved and taken to dry land. Every soul from the boat was supposed to be safe from harm – away from this hellish scene.

Acting quickly

But the dicey situation clearly wasn’t playing out as the naval team had initially expected. There were beings still trapped on the sinking, flaming wreckage, which means that the team needed to do something quickly. They had to confront the dangers before them – even though so many things could go horrifically wrong.

Risky situation

For one thing, the smoke in the air could block the sailors’ vision, or it could overwhelm their ability to breathe. The flames could even conceivably come into contact with oil and trigger a deadly explosion. And on top of everything else, the water itself was incredibly treacherous. If someone jumped in, the currents could easily have swept them away.

Not too close

But that’s a risk one of the crew had to take. It was just too dangerous for the team to sail any closer to the fiery wreck. Though team member Thatsaphon Saii stepped up to the plate regardless. Putting his own life in the balance, he dived into the choppy waters.
