Michelle Obama Revealed How She Really Feels About The Royal Family

Michelle Obama has met the British royal family quite a few times. And they’ve always seemed to get along very well. But Michelle has decided to speak out about her own experiences with the royals after Meghan and Harry’s explosive interview with Oprah in 2021. So, how did things go behind closed doors?

Meghan and Harry sent shockwaves around the world when they sat down with Oprah and talked about their decision to leave the royal family. As the dust settled, plenty of people were curious – what did people who had actually met the royal family think? And of course, Michelle Obama was one of those lucky few who had interacted with the royals a lot.

Michelle chatted to another former resident of the White House – Jenna Bush Hager – about the interview in March 2021. The two women had bonded when the latter’s father George W. Bush exited the White House for the Obama family to move in. Michelle’s said that Jenna was nothing but gracious during that time.

But were the royal family the same way when Michelle met them? Well, when it comes to the Queen herself, much has been made of the interactions between the two women. Michelle met Elizabeth II for the first time in April 2009 and her actions toward her instantly made headlines.

It’s a long-standing bit of royal tradition that no visitors are permitted to touch the Queen. Yet Michelle went one step further: she outright embraced her! But despite the moment being caught on camera and dissected all over the world, Elizabeth herself apparently didn’t raise an objection at all.
